Lower School Admissions

Kindergarten - 5th Grade

Overview

Please note the following details for applying to our Lower School Program.  GPS is an International Baccalaureate World School and follows the Primary Years Program.  For details about this program please go to the IB Information page.  Students applying for Kindergarten need to be five years old before September 1 of the year in which they are enrolling.

Submit an Admissions Application

Complete the Lower School Admissions Application form and submit it to the school along with the $150 application fee.

Teacher Recommendation

Confidential Teacher Recommendation forms must be emailed through the online application to the applicant’s current teacher. Completed forms are emailed directly to GPS by the current school.

Student Transcripts

Download and complete the Transcript Request Letter from the online application and give it to the applicant’s current school. All records should be mailed directly from the school.

Entrance Assessment

Applicants to Kindergarten – Grade 5 participate in a one-on-one Entrance Assessment with a school administrator to determine if the school would be the right fit for the student's academic needs. These are scheduled during the day, Monday – Friday, and are approximately 50 minutes in length. The Admissions Office will schedule the Entrance Assessment upon receipt of the Admissions Application and fee.

Admissions Decision

Families applying for our Lower School program will be notified of acceptance (or non-acceptance) upon completion of the admissions requirements and dependent on space availability in the class.

Please note the California state requirement for immunizations. We will need documentation from your child’s doctor before school starts that all required immunizations have been obtained.
