Inquiry-Based Learning Approach
The inquiry-based learning model is at the heart of the IB curriculum at GPS. This approach empowers students to take control of their learning by asking questions, seeking out information, and drawing connections.
Inquiry begins with the students. They pose questions and develop their lines of inquiry, guided by educators who facilitate deeper understanding. Students are taught research skills that enable them to gather, evaluate, and synthesize information from various sources. As students explore topics of interest, they share their findings and reflect on their learning process. This cycle of inquiry fosters growth and prepares them for future challenges.
The inquiry model equips students with problem-solving skills that extend beyond the classroom, preparing them for lifelong learning.
Inquiry-based learning at GPS is about more than finding answers; it’s about cultivating a mindset of curiosity, exploration, and critical thinking. By guiding students through this process, we equip them with the skills needed to take ownership of their education and apply their knowledge to real-world situations.
